
Obstacles on the Path - The Five Hindrances
In this episode, I explore the five hindrances, which are common mental states that obstruct mindfulness and hinder our ability to see things clearly. These hindrances—desire, aversion, disinterest, agitation, and indecision—are not inherently bad but become obstacles when we are unaware of them or try to suppress them. Instead of fighting these states, the practice is to observe them with curiosity, understand their arising, and recognize that we are the ones who give them power. By practicing with these hindrances, we can gain deeper self-understanding and cultivate a more skillful way of navigating our experiences, ultimately leading to greater inner peace and clarity.
