No Cows, No Problems
In this episode, I explore the Buddhist teaching of non-attachment through the parable of the farmer and his lost cows. This story highlights how our suffering often stems not from the loss of possessions or circumstances, but from our attachment to them. I share my personal experience of losing my business and how applying mindfulness and the concept of non-attachment helped me navigate the pain, distinguishing between the initial suffering (the first arrow) and the self-inflicted suffering of resisting reality (the second arrow). The key takeaway is that non-attachment isn't about giving things up, but about holding them loosely, recognizing their impermanence, and understanding that our identity is separate from our possessions or labels. This perspective offers a path to greater peace and contentment by "letting things be" rather than resisting them.
