Finding Your True Self
In this episode, I explore the concept of finding one's true self through the lens of Buddhist teachings and koans. I discuss how our perception is often clouded by "conceptual fog" and "colored lenses" of beliefs and ideas, hindering our ability to see things as they are. Through koans like "Mu" and "Temper," I illustrate how questioning our assumptions and letting go of fixed ideas about ourselves, such as our temper or even our identity, can be a path to understanding. Ultimately, I suggest that perhaps there is no fixed "true self" but rather a constantly evolving present moment, and the practice lies in learning to play our roles skillfully and adjust our relationship with the personas we adopt.
