To Stop List

To Stop List

Do you make/use “To do” lists? If you’re like me, you probably end up not doing many of the items on that list because you get stuck wasting time on other tasks that take away your time and energy. One method to stop spending time on unnecessary distractions is to make a “to stop list” for tasks that bring you down. Try to come up with at least three to five things you currently do that drain your time and what you’ll probably discover is that many of these tasks can be removed without any serious repercussions. Bonus: getting them out of the way will leave you with extra time for projects and activities you actually enjoy.

I got this idea while reading the book “The Art Of Non-Conformity” by Chris Guillebeau. I suggest creating a list of all the things that are wasting your time and draining your energy. Rather than concentrating on what you have to get done, concentrating on knocking a thing or two off of your “to stop” list. The idea is that when you eliminate these problem tasks, you won’t necessarily need your to-do lists because you’ll have the time and energy to remember them and get them done.
